MTV Marketing: "10th Anniversary"

Assignment: Tell the story of MTV's 10th birthday using only the media's coverage of the event.
Requirements: 
  • No new chyron can be used
  • All voice over must come from the existing media coverage
    ​(quality note: all media footage delivered on 3/4" tapes)

Aside: I was allowed to shoot the opening and closing footage myself to create the illusion of MTV coming to life in the early morning hours.

MTV Marketing: "Merchandising"

Assignment: Demonstrate that affiliation with MTV's trademark and merchandise brings added value to your product.
Requirements:
  • Include multiple merchandise success stories
  • Include a portion of the MTV-Coleman cooler commercial

Aside: I brought in legendary voice over artist Jackson Beck for this piece. He was the original voice of 1940's radio who said the famous line, "More powerful than a locomotive!" 

MTV Marketing: "Point of Sale"

Assignment: Demonstrate how Point of Sale campaigns with MTV makes the difference in product introduction and sales.
Requirements: 
  • Include 3 MTV success stories (Taco Bell, Avia, Steakum)
  • Must incorporate the whole Taco Bell commercial with Young MC
